Kas Swerts is the new NISE Administrator
NISE is pleased to announce that after a careful selection and screening procedure a successor has been found for Hanno Brand as Administrator.
NISE’s new Administrator will be Kas Swerts who’s got excellent qualifications for the responsibilities that this position entails, and has already proven both an enthusiastic commitment and aptitude in the past years, during which Kas has been doing sterling work for NISE.
Kas follows in the footsteps of august predecessors (Luc Boeva and Hanno Brand) and will be a worthy successor to them.
CfP: NISE-Conference 2023
“Nationalism and World Fairs” will be next year’s conference theme.
NISE launches the Call for Papers for its 2023 conference which will be held in Vienna, from the 30th of May until the 1st of June, on the topic of “Nationalism and World Fairs”.
200-500-word outlines for proposed papers can be submitted to NISE, c/o the coordinator, at eva.bidania@nise.eu.
Submmission deadline: 31 October 2022.

CfP: State of Nationalism
SoN, the comprehensive, online and open source guide for the study of nationalism, encourages contributions from both early career and established researchers on key themes in the study of nationalism (with a focus on concepts rather than on particular national movements).

NISE Award 2023
1000 Euro for the best PhD Thesis on nationalism or national movements in Europe.
The NISE Award is an international scientific honor given to authors of thesis’ that contribute to a deeper historical understanding of nationalism and nationalist movements in Europe from the XVIII century onwards.
The first NISE Awards will be awarded in November 2023 to the best PhD Thesis.
