On 3 November Dutch journalist and writer Michel Krielaars captivated the attention of the public at the Nottebohm room in Antwerp, with an extraordinary lecture about Russian nationalism and Putin.
“Everything for the motherland. Russian nationalism as a means to stay in power” was the title of his lecture. You can see HERE the presentation teaser of his lecture.

NISE is pleased to announce that after a careful selection and screening procedure a successor has been found for Hanno Brand as Administrator.
NISE’s new Administrator will be Kas Swerts who’s got excellent qualifications for the responsibilities that this position entails, and has already proven both an enthusiastic commitment and aptitude in the past years, during which Kas has been doing sterling work for NISE.
Kas follows in the footsteps of august predecessors (Luc Boeva and Hanno Brand) and will be a worthy successor to them.

Both ASEN and NISE are happy to report a very fruitful conference held in Antwerp from 5 to 7 April at the premises of the University of Antwerp.
Over 200 participants, more than 150 presentations and loads of academic discussions and networking took place in the three day international conference.

On 6 April, within the framework of the “Nationalism and Media” international conference, NISE held its annual Members’ Council meeting. NISE Members from all over Europe participated in the meeting where issues related to past activity and the future plans of NISE were discussed.
Prior to the Members’ Council meeting, Prof. Attila Pók presented the NISE Lecture: ‘Asset or Liability for Europe? Faces of Hungarian Nationalism’.
