The coordination and the secretariat of the project is in the hands of a Coordination Centre (CC). The CC also:
- manages the database;
- acts as webmaster;
- edits the newsletter;
- (co-)organises the meetings and conferences;
- centralises documentation and publications;
- provides the possibility for archival storage.
The Coordination Centre is situated at the ADVN. It is run by two coordinators: a general coordinator, Luc Boeva, and an administrative coordinator, Elly Broes.
Two extra organisational layers, an Executive Committee and a Board of Directors, guide and assist the coordinators with their day-to-day work.
The Executive Committee (EC) consists of a chairman and a co-chairman, complemented by the two NISE coordinators. For the period 2010-2014, Louis Vos acts as chairman and Frans-Jos Verdoodt as co-chairman.
The EC can rely on a Board of Directors (BoD) for assistance. The BoD is also elected for four years. Its members for 2010-2014, besides EC-chairman Louis Vos and co-chairman Frans-Jos Verdoodt, are: Stefan Berger, James Kennedy, Alexey Miller and Xosé Manoel Núñez Seixas.
